Layers of Impact

A Critical thinking tool:

In year 6 we have started to write a diary entry about Captain Cooks discovery of Australia. We have been using different sentence tricks to intrigue the reader. One of those sentence tricks is layers of impact. This is used to tell the reader the feelings of a person.

The Ukulele Orchestra of Year 4

We’re all really excited to be learning to play the ukulele in 4RF – they’re all really awesome colours too. We’ve already learnt three songs and we sound great when we all play together – The Ukulele Orchestra of Year 4!

Ice to See You, To See You, Ice

Does the colour of ice effect how long it takes to melt? That’s the question we investigated as part of our ‘states of matter’ topic. We observed different coloured ice cubes of identical size slowly melt. We then recorded the changes as cartoon strips which, while accurately recording our observations, also resulted in some very funny recounts (who knew ice cubes got so upset/excited about melting?)
