Learning with our Parents

We always welcome our parents into school to help us in many ways. Dr De La Pena has been helping Year 1 find out about their amazing bodies.  Have a look at Year 1’s page and see what they’ve been learning.

Lord of the Springs – We need your help!

We are unable to use our wonderful three-acre field due to a natural spring which leaves our field flooded for most of the year. However we have been shortlisted in the ‘Tesco Bags of Help’ initiative to win £5,000, which will allow us to install vital drainage. The Tesco scheme, in conjunction with Groundwork, sees grants of £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from the 5p bag levy – awarded to outdoor community projects. We are desperate to beat two other projects to win the top grant, as second and third place prizes will not be enough to fund a permanent solution to the issue.

Voting is open in stores until February 25, with the nearest sites including Bromsgrove Express in Marlbrook, Barnt Green Express, Rubery Metro and Frankley Express.

For more information visit tesco.com/bagsofhelp.

Meet the Builders

Reminder: Come and meet the builders and see what exciting projects we have planned for our school. 6-7pm Tuesday 17th January, school hall.

Appreciation

The theme for our assemblies this half term is appreciation. The new year is a good time to reflect and be thankful for what we have, for saying thank you to others for all they do for us and doing things for others to show our appreciation. Look out for the pupils of Lickey Hills being appreciative in their words and actions.

Happy New Year

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Lickey Hills Primary School and Nursery for 2017.

EYFS ‘Songs Around the Christmas Tree’

Beautiful singing and wonderful costumes ! Everyone visiting said how much they enjoyed the Nursery and Reception class performances of old and new Christmas songs. It was great to see everyone joining in and enjoying the opportunity to perform on our stage. I’m sure you’ll hear lots of the songs over again this holiday! Well done EYFS and merry Christmas to you all.

Baubles !

Congratulations to everyone in KS1 for their excellent Christmas performance ‘Baubles’. What a super story you told with your songs, dances and clear, confident voices. Our visiting families and friends passed on many lovely comments about your show. Well done all – a great team effort!
