In science we’ve been looking at materials and this week we’ve been testing the claims of a certain Juan Sheet – are some kitchen towels stronger and better at soaking up water than others?

Today we have been learning about Autumn. We thought about the life cycle of an oak tree. Then we planted our own seeds!

Today 1RB were learning a Bhangra dance. We really enjoyed it!

Some of us have been helping to make games for children who don’t have very many belongings. They will be put into boxes and sent to them for Christmas. You could make your own at home! Here are some ideas.

We are learning to describe characters from traditional tales. We have been learning about how to describe by thinking about what a character looks, smells and sounds like.

Today we went into the garden and found materials to build houses for the Three Little Pigs. We wrote labels and sentences to describe what we made. 

Today we learnt how to use counters to subtract. We are going to be learning how to use a number line tomorrow. How exciting!

We managed to dodge the rain clouds and get outside for the teddy bears picnic with year 1. We had a great time and made lots of new friends!

We recorded our findings. Each group had a different area to investigate.

Now we know how the wheat grows , we used it to make our own bread.

But first we had to grind the wheat and make the flour.

Lunch time . We had a lovely picnic !

After lunch we played a game to learn what a seed needs to be able to survive and grow, with a little help from our parent helpers.

Once we had all the ingredients for a seed to grow we took our seeds to the seed nursery .  

We enjoyed exploring the wheat fields.

In Literacy we have been learning to write questions and then role-play an interview to recruit new Superheroes to help Superstar , the superhero who helps schools all around the world .
