Learning in Summer 2:

For the Summer 2 Half Term, our  Geography topic will be learning all about Western-Super-Mare.  Our focus will be locating and exploring the coast. We will be identifying and learning about different physical and human features that can be found there and using compasses to direct and describe routes. We will even get a chance to visit Western and experience what we have learnt first hand! In Maths, we will be consolidating and reviewing the knowledge we have learnt this year and continuing to develop our problem solving. In English, we will creating writing pieces based on Katharine Quarmby and Richard O'Neill book; Ossiri and the Bala Mengro. We will be continuing to extend our knowledge of plants and what it means to belong to a faith community in RE.  Lastly, we will be improving our textile skills in D&T.

Spellings will be sent out on Mondays to practice at home before the tests on the following Monday. Current spellings can be found online on the link to the right. Maths fluency questions are likewise set on Wednesday and due back by the following Monday. We also strongly encourage the children to read at least three times a week at home

Please make sure children wear their PE kits for our sporting activities: we have PE and Games on Mondays and Tuesdays. Monday PE lessons will be outdoors (weather permitting) and you may wish to consider your child having a tracksuit for the day. This must be PLAIN navy please. Please make sure all earrings are removed or covered with tape before school on these days.
