Chair of Governors - Mrs. Emily MayneCommunity Governor A qualified chartered accountant who leads the Governing Body on financial matters and is Chair of Governors for LHPSN. I have volunteered as a Governor since Autumn 2013 and enjoyed being able to play an active role in developing the school and ensuring that we are on our journey towards delivering outstanding education for all pupils. Working for a National Accountancy Firm, I bring extensive public sector experience to the Governing body as well as having a personal interest with both my children having attended the school in the past. Outside of work and school I play in a string quartet and enjoy reading, baking and gardening. Read on to find out about our skilled and talented governing body. |
Vice Chair of Governors: Mr. Mario ClaydonCo-opted Governor A professional engineer who joined the governing body as a parent in 2011. During this time I have held several different roles, including Chair. My experience in leadership and management helps me to support and challenge our team of governors and school management. I am passionate about standards and thrive on driving change and improvement. In my spare time I enjoy sport and the outdoors. |
Vice Chair of Governors: Mrs. Katherine SinclairI was elected as a parent governor in April 2021. I am currently co-vice chair of the governing board. I have three children, all of whom have been or are still at the school and I live in Lickey so I have a vested interest in the success of the school. I am passionate about education and particularly about unlocking the keys to learning and creating opportunities for all children. My professional background is as an employment law solicitor. Prior to that I worked in sales and marketing. I have previous experience in governance as a trustee of a multi academy trust in the past. When I am not doing any of the above, I love a bike or run in the Lickey Hills, pilates, music and a good gin and tonic. |

Sarah WhittakerStaff Governor I joined the team at LHPSN in 2021 as a trainee teacher and was then appointed as a fully qualified teacher in 2022 in KS1 at the school. Prior to this I have worked in education for over 20 years in various roles. I have two sons, one of whom attended LHPSN. I lead Music and writing across the school as well as supporting trainee teachers. I look forward to working with the governing board to ensure our school is the best that it can be. |
Rebecca Roberts - GawenParent Governor Director of Education for Malvern College International, I oversee the quality of education across 5 international schools within the Malvern College foundation. Having been the Academic Deputy Head of RGS Worcester for 7 years, I look forward to working with LHPSN to help develop the educational provision across a range of areas. I have a daughter who started in Reception in September 2024 who loves school. |
Rohit BehlCo-opted Governor
As a parent of a 3-year old Boy; Alexander, who attends the school in Reception, I recently joined Lickey Hills Primary & Nursery School as Co-opted Governor in February 2023 to play a part & contribute to the school’s development & our children’s education in our local community. As a Security Management professional, I have a wealth of experience in Operational Delivery, Business Strategy, Risk Management, Coaching & Mentoring & Finance Management where I can support the school’s Governing body. Outside of work & family life, I have a keen passion for cooking, fitness, running; taking part in ultra-marathons & the outdoors. |
Rev’d Louise BeasleyLocal Authority GovernorI was elected as a Local Authority governor in October 2023. I have been Curate of Holy Trinity Church Lickey and St Catherine Blackwell since June 2023. Before my ordained role within the Church of England, I was a primary school teacher for nearly 20 years, where I held various leadership positions. I am passionate about ensuring that pupils are inspired in their learning and achieve their best through receiving high-quality teaching. My main hobbies are running marathons and participating in Ironman distance triathlons, in which I have competed in many events and races across Europe. I also enjoy holidays abroad and geocaching with my family. |
Bryony RobinsonParent GovernorI was elected parent governor in June 2023 and I have two children attending LHPSN, one in Year 6 and another in Year 1. Both also regularly attend The Hive and have attended after school and lunchtime clubs. I am a qualified teacher and have worked in education for the past 17 years in both Primary and Secondary schools. I am currently a senior leader for an Alternative Provision secondary school and have a lot of experience with children with SEND and High Needs. I am very passionate about pupils being happy in school and achieving their full potential both academically and emotionally. |
Diane HankeCo-opted GovernorI was delighted to be invited to join the governing body in July 2021 having lived in the area for more than 25 years. My background is in education with a wealth of experience both as a classroom teacher and as manager of a specialist service which promotes good practice in schools to meet the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities. I feel strongly that all children have the right to access the very best education and am keen to support the positive and inclusive ethos at LHPSN. I enjoy a busy home life with the time now to enjoy the company of family and friends as well as indulging in a wide range of hobbies and interests. |
All about your Governors
Governing bodies have three main roles: to provide strategic direction for the school; to act as a critical friend to the headteacher, who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, and the school team; to ensure accountability. The governors meet as a full board four times a year. In addition each of the three sub-committees ( see below) meet three times a year.
How to contact the Governors
Governors can be contacted by letter. Please address it for the attention of the Chair of Governors LHPSN and put in a sealed envelope marked private and confidential. This should then be passed to the school office.
How the Governing body is made up
The governing body includes parents, staff from the school, people chosen by governors from the local community, people appointed by the Local Education Authority (LEA).
Some of our key objectives
- In conjunction with staff and parents help to improve the performance of the school and the experience of its pupils.
- To ensure that the management and financial systems are as effective and efficient as possible.
- To improve communications between stakeholders (pupils, parents ,staff , governors and the local community).
