Early Years
Welcome to our friendly and supportive Early Years team where we always develop close partnerships with our families, making the transition from home to school a positive and smooth experience.
We aim to give each child a happy, positive and fun start to their school life in which they can establish secure foundations on which to expand and foster a deep love of learning. We pride ourselves on our broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that reflects individual rates of learning; including practical and play-based opportunities to develop, explore and consolidate their own learning and ideas.
"All curriculum plans start in the early years, where children get off to a good start."
Ofsted - April 2024
It is important to us that we encourage children to develop independence in a nurturing, safe and friendly environment, recognising their own successes; developing confidence to work towards personal goals and to ensure readiness for future learning and life skills. The Characteristics of Effective Learning highlight the importance of a child’s attitude to learning and their ability to play, explore and think critically about the world around them, which we encourage the children to reflect on through three dinosaurs: Stickosaurus, Thinkosaurus and Explorosaurus.
