Curriculum Pages
Welcome to the Lickey Hills Primary School and Nursery curriculum pages. Here you will find detailed information about our bespoke curriculum which we carefully designed and planned for each of the subject disciplines. Our curriculum is progressive, challenging and creative which makes learning enjoyable and memorable for our pupils. We believe every child has the right to grow to their full potential, to go out into the world and make a real difference whilst leading happy and rewarding lives. We believe our curriculum helps our pupils to develop the skills and knowledge they need for their future lives, as well rounded global citizens in an ever changing world.
Curriculum Intent, Implementation and Impact
“Curriculum plans in all subjects are precise. They have ‘golden threads’ that link topics and subjects. All curriculum plans start in the early years, where children get off to a good start.”
Ofsted 2024
There is a belief that we are all empowered through knowing things. Our curriculum has been designed and planned especially for our children so that the creative, ‘rounded and grounded’ citizens we wish to develop, will emerge as a result of the impact of our curriculum.
Our curriculum is an interconnected school curriculum, linking learning across all year groups. This aims to ensure learning is deep, meaningful, relevant and long lasting. Our curriculum creates a coherent learning journey for children across core and non-core National Curriculum units of work. Our curriculum has been designed and planned specifically to ensure our teachers are clear about what our pupils need to know and remember as they progress through the school. This ensures that as well as a range of memorable, enriching experiences, our pupils will also know and remember specific knowledge. In addition to this, they are also able to reason, make decisions and problem solve. We have been precise in our curriculum design so that our pupils acquire secure knowledge, enabling them to move onto the next phase of their learning journey.
